재미 시간, 힘든시기

Tuesday 28 May 2013

My have I Just Got K'd been busy with projects lately! I guess the biggest thing was the Kpop Summit Season 2 almost a month ago now. It was the biggest show run by Kpop fan, performed by Kpop fans for Kpop fans to ever run in Sydney and maybe even Australia! There must have been AT LEAST 500 people in the theatre which for some first time performers were more people looking at them then they have ever experienced. It ran consecutively with Crossover's biggest annual show Upstaged on the 27th of April. That was the most tiring day I had ever had in my few years of dancing. Not only did we have to staff both shows, most of us performed in about 5 acts each between two shows and we had to get up at 6.30 in the morning to get to the studio on time for I Just Got K'd's rehearsal at 9am. Bec even got to stage manage her first show with Ellyn reprising her usual role for Upstaged. It was a stressful night for everyone.

Here's our performance for the night.

The show ran for a meaty 3 and a half hours and it also featured the debut of our sister crew XoK, Crossover's second Kpop crew. Since then we've been working well with them on more full covers like B1A4's new single "What's Happening" featuring I Just Got K'd Elena, Kevin, Yuki and I and XoK's Ella and our love for B1A4 continued by covering "Tried to Walk" for the Summit.

Since the last update, another of our crew members have acquired their own class and Bec now has a girl's Kpop class running on Saturday at our home studio Crossover!

We're still working with other teachers and students of Crossover Dance Studios and lately I Just Got k'd members Daniel and Whitney collaborated with Lex, Emily and Kimberly to perform FIESTAR's debut song "Vista" at the summit, too. They have heaps more planned with 4Minute's new hit "What's Your Name" lined up soon. We're highly anticipating it, too!

We're sad to say that one of our long standing members, Yuki, is leaving for Hong Kong when she finishes uni at the end of this semester, but we're hoping that's not the end of our Kpop journey with her. We hope to do more covers with her before she leaves and hope to meet again in the future. :')

Short update

Thursday 20 December 2012

Many things have happened in the world of kpop, but also within the crew too since we've last posted in August earlier this year.

Our Saturday 12PM class seems to be slowly increasing in student number and as the IJGK'd class, they performed Infinite's Paradise under the leadership of Dan for The Crossover Showcase. I Just Got K'd as a crew performed a short but powerful mix to Boyfriend's Janus, and U-Kiss's Stop Girl. We also performed for the Sino-Australian Talent show (?) again for their big anniversary event late in November. In early December we also danced for the Korean Cultural Office "Party on the Park". Some members of I Just Got K'd danced alongside our good friend Terry and another Crossover Dance Studio instructor Lex, to dance to BoA's Only One for the I Love Kpop competition which guest starred Kaotsun and Darren TP as the judges. After many late nights of training, the team pulled it off, coming first in the competition among many other good contestants.

Upcoming events include
- City of Sydney Lunar New Year Parade events
- Upcoming secret IJGK'd sub-unit cover
- Much much more

Stay tuned!

바빴다 댄스 일정 (Hectic Dance Schedule)

Saturday 4 August 2012

Hello world of the internet! Here's a new exciting post about the lives of I Just Got K'd. Moving past all that negative stuff, I feel there's a bit of tension sometimes, but we're all working hard in the name for dance and friendship (:

I Just Got K'd has once again been flooded with new projects and now we're busier than ever with a class of our own! We've finally moved on from the IU/Warrior performance to include No Mercy and Beautiful Night into our repertoire, but this is something like the 7th or 8th performance of Warrior! I guess when another song that really speaks to us comes along we'll finally change it after 6 months worth of performances :P We're really proud of our achievements since after all, we're the first kpop kids to have their own class after working so hard for a whole year and Ellyn even has her own class that sits right next to our's on the timetable (: For your teacher to trust you enough to let you do that is a real privilege...!

Since becoming teachers I feel like there's a bigger drive to be better dancers as we're not only representing Crossover as a student crew, but also as teachers. People students have to be willing to pay for to take class with. I know I Just Got K'd will reach even greater heights with all these coming new experiences (:

Things to think about.

Saturday 31 March 2012

Well I'm not even sure if anyone actually still a bit of the entry in this blog now, but it is clear we have a small update since the last time that something was written. While I am often the only one who bothers to update old items in the mail each milestone I think for me to bring everything to accelerate. I was going to type anything on our first paid performance ever (03/28/12), but I got around to it because there are really too much trouble and other things that are waiting to do that invented this message . I think this recent deal with money actually brought new things to think about the characters. Indicates a performance fee to a good performance. A good performance is indicated by a professional group of dancers and I'm not sure what we expected when we signed up for I enjoyed K'D. We always pride ourselves what other kpop children can not stand. Grow a group of unity that brought together by the oddities and misfits to do something to grow. One thing we grow to be a part of what dance level. Age can not separate us. Also, different interests. It is a little different.

The night of the Eight, it's a bit of a breeze to go back to ancient times. Stage is small and we had all these formations to reconsider, because our performance was great. Solving problems together, bonding over dinner, dancing with a smile all the things we seem to do now. In all honesty, our dancing is mediocre at best, but we had fun anyway. I love dancing. Not only the social part of it, but just learning how to move with grace and music just gives me much pleasure. The friend is the ice and the icing on the cake.

I was the one who said to take what our staff is at par value. To just love what it is not and what it could be, but now that all this is a small L-shaped, I find myself a bit lost in thought. Wait, correction, much in thought. I've always been guilty of thinking too much about what other people think of the staff. I always worried that I was replaceable and that's what I'm introducing is not enough.

One of you, you really do not care who? I found it hard to believe and it took me a long time to think. Be the first. Anyone who threatened the first thought that the beginning of the end led to leave. We all know. If left, the others will follow. The first is the "icebreaker".

Difficult if you learn something new about someone. A new thing has led to a lot of new questions. Why can not I see what's new? What does that mean? Do you still regret them or are you just quickly jump on the chance that what you said you did? What is real? I do not know. You just want to walk solo from now? Do you feel as if we are weighing you down? Greatness is so much easier without us? It is not only because these are people I love and precious. People say to me it was a good man.

You know what, I get that I really do. I think I can not say that there is a point where I was well enough to leave K'D been behind me, but I see where you come as you think. I always see both sides. Part usually hurt more to think about.

This is the only part I’m leaving in concise English and everyone have a good ponder about these:
What dance level do you think you are in respect to the crew?
Do you feel like you’re not getting out what you’re putting in?
What are your thoughts on the crew and its level?
Can you keep up with the amount of commitment the crew’s requiring?
Are you enjoying dancing with the crew?

KPOP Music Festival 2011 ♥

Sunday 13 November 2011

Big step forward for our crew yesterday (: I think we gained some nice tax as usual and hopefully are slowly building a little fanbase :P (probably not. awks.). We met at Olympic Park Station at 10 (though I didn't get there til about 10.50 :S) and when we got to the venue, we were told to put our bags in some shifty corner. It was a very Facebook Official heavy day xD We randomly flashmob and whenever we didn't know what to do we just dance Facebook Official. Ruby was busy striving for excellence for Monday. (: GOOD LUCK! When TVXQ came on we gave the people a little preview and it was surprisingly easy to draw a crowd...

Everyone: ...what do we do for the second verse...?!
Kelvin: Facebook Official, guy? Facebook official? Facebook official? :DDDD

Youtube Guy: What's your favourite KPOP band?
Ellyn and I: HEART 2 HEART
Youtube Guy: No!

The outdoor performance wasn't our best, but in comparison, there was really not too much to worry about. A lot of the acts were just super fans so they weren't as well-rehearsed as us I guess. Some of us (including me awkwardly HAHA) messed up DBSK, but the crowd was great and they were easy to please. Opening the show was really nerve-racking though and my legs were trembling until the chorus of Before U Go. State and Trait anxiety on steroids. :( Overall we had good comments though which was nice to hear since this was the SIXTH TIME performing DBSK. Angeween, you will always be my ...punching/chest intimidating partner! You're irreplaceable! (Elena says) Don't worry we'll be "(h)waiting" for you :P Haha

We tried dragging people for our arvo performance with Roly Poly, but we hadn't done it in a while so it was funny cakes :P I love dancing with you guys! I'd do it any time! Dancing on the floor during our mix and attracting many fangirls...! :D (not really, but I winked...a lot. AWKS. ) We were put near the end for high quality and I hope we fulfilled that standard. Have to look at a video for evidence...Haha Chonny was at Kpop Fest and being absolutely MOBBED by teenage kids and IJGK'd led him to the stage to hang with Jaye ;) (woo Ellyn! And heaps of us got picture...though there weren't very flattering I must say xD) And Leslie came, but appazza he didn't have a shirt (we're not in a crew called Mooks. Who are you?) Haha have to remember to pick one up for him next time we're at the studio. :D Then we can look like a cult outside of CO. I love wearing our crew shirts together. Makes us seem like we have a purpose. VIPs! Teeheehee

Two/three hour break til concert. FOOD! (or lack thereof) By this time of day, anything good was already sold out. So basically all I ate yesterday was a bowl of cereal, two rice cakes, and 8 nuggets :S Where duh vegies?! And in that time Kelvin LOST HIS TICKET. I mean like LULWUT. He was so lucky we found it :S YAYAY Water/Juice for $1.

We got to see 12 awesome bands play at ANZ stadium. Some of our favourites were there including TVXQ, B2ST, Kara, Secret, SISTAR, you know the whole lot of people we dance to all the time. The experience was pretty surreal since I never thought I'd see these people in real life. To see something that had made our dance crew into such close friends in real life...it's hard to explain, but there was a different connection from just being a fan. Months ago, the kpop music festival seemed improbable and not well planned out (what if it was to rain at ANZ?!), but it was amazing yesterday despite the heat, sweat and tears.

We basically had to jump up to see the people on stage and I had to save my energy and voice for people I really liked because I started losing my voice at the end of the show. Fangirl-ed so hard for Gikwang, Lee Joon and Yunho SO SO HARD. ;) Haha Min, too LOLOL (: Claps for Kelvin who gave piggy backs! I saw his face during Fiction and Elena's like 10kgs lighter than me! xD Dan during Step and Lupin! NGAWWWW he was so content :3 Debido mouthing the words to songs I didn't know existed. Step by step, 1 2 3! Reapy loving Taeyeon a little too much :P We are some serious tax for those groups. They didn't play shy boy :( which means my raving/jumping buddy was devooo! (Yay I just DLed Intuition :D and Hello Hello on a side note MUCH LOVE)

I'm so glad they closed with TVXQ those two are so significant to our group. By the end of the concert out chairs were pushed back so far from our extreme jumping. Jaye face was so content...just happy and relaxed. His smile was so genuine. He's usually so tired so I'm glad he got to take the day off. It was a Jaye I hadn't seen in a long time. Watching Ruby excitedly recording SHINee on her chiar and Yuki crying at the end of the show! The way kpop moves us. Poor little Whitney was really tired (probably from her formal the day before, too which she looked beautiful. Our little maknae is growing up!) And Jibbie for being just wonderful all day 8D And hugging him for looking emotional like me :P Bon Bon you're the mother of our group looking after us littlelies. You so cuteeee! (bad grammar intentional...Could have fooooooled me!)

It's not the end of IJGK'd with you Angeween. We'll we right where you left us (: HWAITING! See you on the other side. We'll be there, always (: ♥

Health comes first!

Sunday 11 September 2011

Angeween, this definitely won't do! Allow me to brew you come honey lemon water to soothe your cough! ...or I'll just give you a lemon and some honey and you can make do yourself...! For every 750mL of water dissolve about 5/6 tablepoons of honey per 1/8 of lemon since it's pretty strong. It's a great remedy. Gets rid of a sore throat in two days (proven through many trials) and probably something about phlegm (but lets not get into that!) since it also encourages fluid intake which is very important when you're sick (:

Isn't it sad when people bicker about that money? :/ That's why I hate owing people money because it's something so petty that gets between people. It ruins families, friends, relationships. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm all about shouting the next person something and that whole bartering thing I got going with a lot of you gaiz, but when people shout me stuff I just get really bothered because I don't want it to get between us (: Money comes and goes. Anywhose.

TODAY, TODAY. I killed myself sleeping late last night so I was pretty spent today :( No moar perfoom was on and it was really confusing and harrrrd (Why won't you come?/Because it's too harrrrd!) because I kept looking at Jaye instead of Ellyn *sadface* So I was basically really confused since I was doing the wrong part the wrong way and totes dragged Dan down with me xD But I totally practiced and now I'm alright at it :S It's still pretty foreign! We can reiterate on Wednesday. And I'll continue training hard! At least I'm LOOKING in the right direction now ==

Animania is next Saturday! I'm not sure if I want to do it since that would mean missing at least 3u if I leave in time for 4u arvo class :S So much polishing to be done before the performance and we're definitely tight on time! Our crew has been so last minute lately since we've had performance after performance! We're a tired little bunch balancing education (exams - mid-sems, yearlies, HSC prep) with all the rehearsals and performances! We need more sub-units or something...! You know who I'd like in the crew, JESSIE! Hahaha.

BTW reminding the Jay Park sub-unit: Kevin, Whitney, Dan, Angeline & Kurt (?) ...you guys are presumed to be the sub-unit, yeah? If Kurt is doing The Crossover...? If not, can we have Jessie pretty, pretty pwease? Can we keep her? Can we, can we , can we? :D

Anyways! Enough. Point of this post is to remind you all to take good care of yourselves!

Don't kill yourself! I know every time I come home from rehearsal I have bruised knees (EVERY SINGLE TIME!) And I don't want that to be you guys! xD Eat fruit and vegies! And sleep more everyone! Drink plenty of fluid!

Love you much!
